What’s neXT50 welcomed Professor Sebastian Kernbach, co-author of Design Your Future, for a fireside conversation with former CBC journalist Alison Smith. Drawing on design thinking, positive psychology and behavioural economics, Sebastian challenged the idea that clarity must come before action. Instead, he encouraged us to think like designers: try small experiments, learn from the experience and adjust. The conversation also explored “transition competence”- the lifelong ability to navigate change with curiosity, creativity and agency, and how community can help us see possibilities we may not see for ourselves.
