Although a few years old, this fascinating article in Fast Company tells the story of an undergrad class at Stanford that became wildly popular called, “Designing Your Life.” What’s it have to do with our transitioner community? Think about it. How intentional should you be as you plan your playbook for a longer life? What tools do you need? How should you shift your thinking, and why don’t we have the same opportunities in all of our life stages? At What’s neXT, one of our goals is to answer these questions for you.
The course emphasizes four key aspects to creating what is called an “odyssey plan,” and what we call a playbook: gratitude, generosity, self-awareness, and adaptability. With life experience and accrued wisdom, these should be obvious foundations for how we understand ourselves and look to our futures.
